Samsung ML-2510 Review

samsung ml 2510One of the features of the Samsung ML-2510 is its compact size coming in at 354 x 297 x 246 mm (13.9 x 11.7 x 9.7 inch). This small compact printer can print an impressive 24 PPM for A4 and 25 PPM for letter size.

The guys over at pcauthority.com ran some tests and say “On the plus side, the ML-2510 is exceptionally easy to take care of. The only removable part is the combined toner and drum, which means replacing a toner cartridge is a job that will take less than a minute. The cartridge itself will cost $100 and will print 3000 pages, although the starter cartridge supplied only runs to a decidedly stingy 1000 pages.”

One of the things missing from the ML 2510 is a network port (Ethernet port) this may not affect basic users but for some more advanced user with networks at home is might be an issue.

Overall this is a smashing little printer with an impressive printing speed.

Canon Pixma iP6700D Review

canon pixma ip6700dThe Canon Pixma iP6700D is not a compact printer coming in at 7.5kg and measuring 429mm by 304mm by 183mm. With the front paper tray extended, you can add about another 8 inches to its depth, however this is not a bad looking printer and has a nice design.

The built-in card reader which is on the right-hand side at the front, allows you to print photos from a memory card without a computer just under this you’ll find an IrDA sensor for printing photos from a mobile phone or other IrDA-compatible device, and a USB port for Pictbridge direct printing as well as printing from a USB flash-memory device.

Some of the features are almost identical to the older iP6600D model and according to Canon, the biggest difference is that photo contact sheets can now accommodate as many as 35 images you’ll also find a few more editing options when printing without a computer.

Epson Stylus DX6000 review

Epson Stylus DX6000The Epson Stylus DX6000 comes in a stylish black and silver tone, height and width (463 x 354 x 181mm) and 6.5kg, with front-loading digital camera memory card slots (supporting CF Type II, Memory Stick, SD/MMC and xD-Picture card) with PictBridge support and a USB 2.0 slot above for direct printing.

The print resolution is 5,760 x 1,440 optimised dpi (dots per inch) but the print and copy speeds have significantly improved over older models as 27ppm for black text (as opposed to 20ppm) and 28 seconds for 10 x 15cm (6 x 4-inch) photos instead of 81 seconds.

Epson have added a 2-inch colour LCD viewer so you can preview your photos before you print them (always a nice feature).
