Samsung ML-2510 Review

samsung ml 2510One of the features of the Samsung ML-2510 is its compact size coming in at 354 x 297 x 246 mm (13.9 x 11.7 x 9.7 inch). This small compact printer can print an impressive 24 PPM for A4 and 25 PPM for letter size.

The guys over at pcauthority.com ran some tests and say “On the plus side, the ML-2510 is exceptionally easy to take care of. The only removable part is the combined toner and drum, which means replacing a toner cartridge is a job that will take less than a minute. The cartridge itself will cost $100 and will print 3000 pages, although the starter cartridge supplied only runs to a decidedly stingy 1000 pages.”

One of the things missing from the ML 2510 is a network port (Ethernet port) this may not affect basic users but for some more advanced user with networks at home is might be an issue.

Overall this is a smashing little printer with an impressive printing speed.

    Samsung ML-2510 mono-chromatic laser printer
Purchased Staples, Toronto, Ont. Can. approx. $130
For use with new Core 2 Duo -intel based, imac
pros: cheap, very fast, small, light, 8mb cache, easy to set-up and use
cons: limited printer features with an imac such as inability to set quality of toner used for the print =all jobs are printed in “best”, somewhat noisy but may be comparable to other laser printers, $95 replacement toner, I’m told it will print 3000 pages, I haven’t gone through a cycle yet so this remains to be seen.
A very basic laser printer, as a graduate student it’s great for printing large quantities such as journal articles. If you are looking for zero frills, you just want to print what you see, then go for it.

  3. For the cost it’s a good deal.
    $129.99 at OfficeMax.

    But it has some quirks.
    1)Is noisy during printing.
    2)Doesn’t support older fonts.
3)Can’t use a Compact Parallel Autoswitch with it.
When trying to connect two computers to it.
